Who we are

Great Lakes Art Society Incorporated (GLAS)
GLAS Encourages and promotes the cultivation of art in all mediums and provide means of social discourse between artists, art lovers and patrons.
GLAS has been holding exhibitions of the highest possible standard for public viewing and sale for 32 years in Forster / Tuncurry and has been working to raise the standard of art by arranging suitable tutorials, drawing and film nights and lectures by competent teaching artists.

Meetings

Committee meetings are held monthly on the last Monday of each month.

General meetings are held monthly on the first Monday of each month. Members encouraged to attend as many of these meetings as possible and are reminded that these meetings give them a voice in the running of their organisation.

The Annual General Meeting is held on the first Monday in February each year.

Newsletters, Workshops & Classes

For full details of current and future planned workshops, classes, newsletters and any news items go to that 'button' at the top of the page.

  • Monday workshops are conducted with local tutors every Monday except during exhibtions.
  • Weekend workshops are held throughout the year with master class tutors such as Kasey Sealy, Graham Cox, Madeleine Szymanski,Robyn Collier and Grace Paleg, to name just a few.
  • Paint-outs are organised in locations about the beautiful Great Lakes area, covering the foreshores about Wallis Lake, the beaches and inland to the Hinterland. Find full details on the relevant page.

  • Where we are

    Our fully owned premises are at 34 Lake Street Forster, on the right side of the road just 200m past the Aquatic Centre and tennis courts and opposite the Primary School playing fields. Entry to Gallery is FREE.- Parking available to side of building.

    Come along during open hours, enjoy the visual feast, you may even find the masterpiece you have always wanted.

    We are open on Friday, Saturday and Sundays 10.00am - 4.00pm. You may often find us open on other days conducting workshops or functions. Please feel welcome to come in anyway.
