Lorraine has always enjoyed drawing and painting from early in her childhood and enjoyed studying art as part of her teacher training. Towards the end of her teaching career she attended Bonn Accord Art Studio in Bulli where she studied Folk and Decorative Art with various tutors.
On moving to the Taree area Lorraine joined a Folk Art studio at Nabiac to further develop her interest and to meet local similarly minded people. She later taught
classes in this studio.
Lorraine also developed an interest in acrylics as a medium for painting and attended many workshops which broadened her skill base. Her love for watercolour paintings led her to Hindmarsh Arts in Taree, where she developed her abilities with both watercolour and acrylic media.
In 2006 Lorraine joined Great Lakes Art Society (GLAS - aka Lakes Street Gallery) which facilitated her artistic growth through workshops with many local and visiting tutors. She attends workshops at GLAS and tutors in watercolour techniques and has become an active member of the executive committee of this organisation.
Lorraine presently likes to create works in watercolour, pastel, oil and acrylic media but her special interest is in developing creative and exciting works in watercolour. She enjoys sharing artistic activities with like-minded friends who inspire her to continue her development as an artist. In recent years Lorraine has achieved success in Great Lakes Art Society's Open Exhibitions and her paintings are currently displayed and sold through Great Lakes Art Society's Gallery (Lake Street Gallery).
